UK Users, ⚠️ It’s Time for Bonus BeReal! ⚠️
Ever wish you had the chance to show your BeReal friends more of your day? We’ve all been there… the BeReal notification goes off before we’re at the concert, out to dinner, or connecting with family and friends, and we’re faced with the ultimate decision: post late or miss the moment.
Internally, we’ve been challenging ourselves (head’s up, we’re going to be doing a lot of that) to rethink the fundamentals of how BeReal works while making sure we stick to our core principle of authenticity.
That’s why we’re excited to test Bonus BeReal with our UK users (don’t worry…coming soon to the rest of the world!). Bonus BeReal are designed to balance our core value for authenticity while enabling users the freedom to share some of the special moments from their daily life that happen outside the two-minute window. Who ever said we have to abide by a one-a-day rule forever?
Here’s how it works:
- If you post on time within the two-minute window of receiving the ⚠️ Time to BeReal. ⚠️ notification, you’ll unlock the ability to post two Bonus BeReal during that day, at a time of your choosing.
- If you post late, you’ll only be able to post your one late BeReal (you’ll still get to join in on the fun of seeing your on-time friends’ Bonus BeReal – for now anyways 🤭).
- Each post has its own comment thread and its own Realmojis, just like your regular BeReal.
- Through BeReal Audio (currently available with Apple and Spotify integrations), you’ll also have two additional times to share the music and podcasts you’re listening to when you post your Bonus BeReal.

Remember this is a test, so don’t be surprised if we change some things as we go 🤫.
If you’re already using BeReal, then you know we’re a committed work-in-progress (aren’t we all 😌) – remember how we said we’re not about a filtered version of life? So there may be some bugs, as we’ll be constantly developing, testing, and tweaking this feature – keeping an authentic experience top-of-mind.
It’s going to be an iiiinteresting summer at BeReal folks. This is the start, and we hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do 🔥.
